Vintage Air Gen 5 Air Conditioner KIT ID: (471066) 1964 - 66 Ford Mustang
- Electronically controlled system replaces the factory AC and Heating system
- Rear AC and Heat vents are active while in the “VENT” setting only
A/C Airflow Control Positions
In your Super Wagoneer, the heating and air conditioning system has been fully modernized while preserving the iconic look of the original controls. The visible buttons and sliders maintain the classic design but are now connected to state-of-the-art electronic components.
Note: There is no separate button for air conditioning. Instead, A/C is managed automatically through the temperature control bar. Modern comfort, seamlessly integrated into a timeless interface.
Defrost Position
To clear the windshield, move the selector to the DEF position. In this mode, airflow is directed toward the windshield and side defogger vents. Use this setting in cold or humid conditions to quickly remove fog or frost.
Dash Vent (Direct Ventilation) Position
For fresh air directed at the upper body, set the selector to the VENT position. This opens the dash vents, providing direct airflow to the cabin. Ideal for mild weather when cooling or heating is not required.
Footwell (Floor) Position
To warm your feet and lower body, place the selector in the FLOOR position. This directs air to the footwells. Recommended when heating is active and maximum comfort is needed during colder conditions.
Intermittent Wipers
Intermitent wipers have been added as a functional upgrade to this vehicle.
Setting the wipers happens with a series of twists of the wiper knob.

This car has a electronic brake system. In addition to using your PARKING BRAKE we suggest always curbing wheels and LEAVING CAR IN GEAR when parked to ensure maximum safety against rolling.
To operate the electronic brake, make sure that the key is in the ON or RUN position. The engagement and release require the system to be powered. This only happens if the key is in the ON or RUN position.
Only operate the system at a standstill. The Park Brake button under the light switch requires 6 seconds in orders to be fully engaged or disengaged. DO NOT turn the key to the OFF position while engaging or releasing the system as it will only partially engage.
A LED indicator is on your center console is there to provide a status of the Parking Brake.
Do Not Drive with the Parking Brake engaged. Doing so will require costly repair to replace parking brake drum.

FASTENER TORQUE SETTINGS
When it comes to fastening parts securely and safely, fastener torque settings play a crucial role. Fastener torque settings, also known as torque specifications, determine the clamping force applied to a screw, bolt or other fastener.

REPLACEABLE PARTS
Regularly replacing essential car parts offers numerous benefits, enhancing both performance and longevity. Timely changes, such as oil and air filters, contribute to an extended lifespan by preventing premature wear. Improved fuel efficiency is another perk, achieved through the replacement of filters, ensuring optimal combustion.

If fuel drips - Immediately clean body
The clear coat paint we use for this restoration is sensitive to gas. If gas drips onto the paint and is left to sit, it will turn the clear coat yellow. There is no remedy or fix this issue.
If the clearcoat of your vehicle becomes yellowed due to fuel drips, the panel must be sanded and repainted.
Maintenance
No brake cleaner on wheels or paint
Keep brake cleaner and solvents off all painted surfaces. The wheels on this vehicle are polished, clear coated and painted after they are formed. Brake cleaner and other mineral solvents will cause the clear coat and paint to become cloudy.
Do not use abrasives on wheels. Abrasives will cause the clear coat to become cloudy or scratch the aluminum of the wheel.
*CRC Bräkleen
Maintain rubber seals
When possible we use all new rubber seals and gaskets. There are a mix of new and used seals on each Vigilante. Keep seals oiled using a seal restoration product or Vaseline.
Glass
The glass on your vehicle is newly cut and tempered. Keep water from accumulating on the glass to keep it looking clear and prevent waterspots. If waterspots accumulate on glass, we recommend using Griot’s Fine Glass Polish.
Lubricate Locks, Hinges & Latches
If locks & latches are not operting smoothly, lubricate them with a small amount of Lithium Grease.
Leather
Moore & Giles quallity leather has been used to upholster the seats and interior panels of Vigilante Cars. Vigilante seats feature new springs, new foam, and new padding. We recommend the Griot’s Garage Leather 3-In-1 to maintain the leather.
